Parents and churches have the awesome and weighty privilege of discipling the next generation.  Much is at stake.  In large measure, generations rise or fall, wither or flourish depending on the influence of parents and churches.  In His Word, God calls parents to be the primary molders of their children (Deut. 6:4-9; Prov. 6:20-23; Eph. 6:1:1-4).  Yet parents are not called to bear this weight alone because they are part of a church family, the household of God, which is made up of spiritual grandmas and grandpas, mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers who stand ready to strengthen the hands of parents in the weighty task of discipling (Eph. 2:19; 1 Tim. 3:15).

DISCIPLESHIP IN THE HOME

Discipling happens through teaching and modeling.  It is important for parents to teach their children about Jesus and what it means to follow him.  Perhaps more important still is that parents model what it looks like to follow Jesus by the way they live their lives.  Modeling is so important because many aspects of the Christian life will be caught instead of taught.  The best gift parents can give their children is the gift of being a living-breathing, walking-talking example of what it looks like to follow Jesus.  Practically speaking, God is saying to parents: “Be the person you want your children to become."

SUNDAY SCHOOL

One important way that the Church—the family of God—comes alongside parents in the task of discipleship is to help teach the Bible to their children during Sunday school classes.  Teachers typically utilize age appropriate curriculum from Children Desiring God. Sunday School classes meet from 8:45-9:50am.

CHILDREN'S CHURCH

Younger children are welcome to come to Children's Church during the sermon, usually between 10:15-11:00am.
