What is God up to in the world?

He is equipping and empowering and emboldening his church to proclaim the gospel to and make disciples of all nations (Matt. 24:14; 28:18-20; cf. Luke 24:47).  This is God’s mandate and our mission.  And when this mission is done, a new song of praise will erupt from a heavenly chorus made up of worshippers from “every tribe and language and people and nation” (Rev. 5:9).  Our mission is to help bring this certain, yet still future reality to fruition by living in light of the worth of Christ.  What would it look like to live in light of the worth of Christ at a local church level?

In 3 John 5-8, we see two groups of people in a local church: goers and senders.  Goers are those who go out for the sake of the name.  That is, they prize Jesus such that they are willing to do and endure everything in order to spread the His fame far and wide. Senders are those who, for the sake of the name, send out goers in a manor worthy of God by means of their generous support.  That is, they are willing to leverage their own resources and to give of themselves in order complete the mission.  Now we recognize that we sometimes don’t value the name and fame of Christ the way that we should.  We are not always eager goers or senders.  Our desire is to, by the grace of God, renew our resolves to give ourselves to the great cause of world missions so that Christ will get the honor and glory that he so richly deserves.

In short, we want to be a church aflame for the name above all names.

Arkadiy & Anneke Naydenov

Arkadiy is originally from the Western Ukraine and Anneke from South Africa. The Lord has blessed them with a couple of wonderful kids, Mikael (5) and Karla (2). They have been serving with International Messengers for 14 years. Arkadiy is a leader of the Living Hope Church and the director of the missionary training center. His heart is in discipleship and counseling. Anneke has an outreach ministry to the mothers with young children.

Jesus has commissioned us to make disciples of Him out of all nations, but despite 2000 years of church history, this mission has not been completed yet. There are still thousands of nations or "people groups" that have never even heard the name of Jesus. How can this be?

The difficulty in reaching these people is that they are often in the most remote areas of the world, areas that are sometimes hostile to Christianity. Some people do not even have a written language. Some can only be reached by helicopter or by a long journey on foot.

Nevertheless, our heart's cry is to see these unreached peoples be reached with this glorious gospel!

So what can we in Pierz, MN do?

PRAY: Ask Jesus to send workers into the harvest field, from FBC and other churches.

SUPPORT: You can give to missionaries going to these least reached people. Contact Pastor Brandon to be connected!

GO: Is God calling YOU to go to the unreached? Talk with others and ask them to pray and confirm this calling. Study the Word. Learn about missions. Research mission sending agencies. We at FBC are with you as you discern this call!
